Silent Feature

Yet another assignment from Visual Fundamentals. And also.. my first movie! For this project we were put in small groups and told to produce a two minute silent feature. The goal was to implement all of the aspects of good photography we had learned and take it one step further. It was a great learning experience. You don't realize how time consuming making a video can be until you try for yourself. Although the finished product was only two minutes, it took about ten hours to film, and a couple of days to edit. And that was without audio to worry about.
Doing this assignment made me realize that when you shoot video, for a movie or for news, you have to be in a different mindset. You have to always be thinking about the shots you need for editing purposes. It is necessary to have a plan before you start shooting.
One of the members of my group has his own camera so this was shot in HD, hence the high quality of the video.
