This is another of my projects from my Visual Fundamentals class. The assignment was to take pictures of strangers. The purpose of this assignment was to experience starting a conversation with people you don't know as this is a main component of being a journalist.
Walking up to a someone you've never met and asking if you can photograph them can be very daunting. Some people were receptive to the idea. Most, however, did not seem thrilled at the idea and some were downright hostile. It was very nerve-wracking at first, but I found if you were very friendly and conversational with people, that seemed to illicit the best response.
Doing this project made me more confident when talking to strangers. It was good practice for an aspiring journalist.
